While you can easily share a workbook in Google Sheets, you may want to direct someone to a specific portion of a sheet. Obtaining a link to an exact cell, range, column, or row to share or save is easy. Grabbing a URL to a specific section of a sheet can be quite useful. You can let an employee know they need to update something, call out an error in the data to a coworker, or simply save the link as a reference for yourself....

Do you want to find and optionally delete the duplicate entries in your spreadsheets? If so, use Microsoft Excel’s conditional formatting option to highlight duplicates and then select an option to remove those items. We’ll show you how. To find the duplicates, use conditional formatting that checks the duplicate values in your cells and highlights them in your chosen formatting. Then, optionally, you can ask Excel to remove all duplicates from your dataset, keeping only the unique values in it....

The ARP Protocol An IP address is a numerical label for a networked device. It’s used as an address so the appropriate network traffic arrives at the correct device. But most devices on local area networks have dynamic IP addresses. That is, their IP address might well change the next time they’re booted up. To be able to correctly route network traffic to the appropriate device, a scheme has to be employed that maps IP addresses to Media Access Control (MAC) addresses....

The Magic Folder is actually just a Windows Sidebar gadget that you can drag files to, and it can automatically sort them into the proper folders, based on rules which you can configure easily. Using the Magic Folder Once you install the gadget, you’ll probably need to add it by right-clicking on the sidebar somewhere and choosing “Add Gadgets” and then dragging it to the desktop or the sidebar....

Just go to Edit \ Preferences, and choose the Appearance tab. You should see a “Font Smoothing” dropdown menu, which you can change to “Light” to make the font smoothing less “fuzzy”. Here’s some example screenshots for your enjoyment: Font smoothing: Medium (more fuzzy) Font smoothing: Light (less fuzzy) Font smoothing: Strong (absurdly fuzzy) Take your pick! I personally chose Light as my default, and it seems to make a big difference....

Launch Remote Desktop and put in the remote computer you want to connect to then hit the Options button. When the Options menu opens up reduce the Remote desktop size and choose a lower color setting. Also under the Experience tab I uncheck everything except Reconnect if connection is dropped. Now hit Connect. Your remote session will be using a lot less resources and should speed up your session while working on getting an issue resolved....

After Microsoft released the latest round of updates for Patch Tuesday, IPSEC IKE and L2TP VPN connections were failing for many users. This was particularly problematic for businesses that relied on these connections for remote employees to access private systems. Launch the SaveAsPDF.exe file and click Run when the security warning appears. Accept the license and terms and click Continue. The application installs … Installation complete … click OK. Now when you open say Word 2007 you will notice the ability to use the new feature. According to the Microsoft site this Add-In can be used in 8 of the Office applications. So far I have successfully tested it in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint....

To enable this feature, go to the Organize menu and choose “Folder and Search Options” from the menu. From there, click the View tab, and you should see this near the bottom: Just check the “Use check boxes to select items” checkbox, and you will now be able to use the checkboxes. Have you ever wanted to make sure that a reply goes back to more than one email address? You might want to have somebody automatically reply to your home and personal address, or you might want to make sure your boss is included on replies instead of having to forward the messages to him. Outlook allows you to set the default reply-to address to something other than your own email, but you can also use more than one email address into that field, which will tell the recipient’s mail client to reply to a list of email addresses, not just yours....

Another cool thing you can do with Teleflip is enter in the cell number you want to contact into your email. I find this a lot more beneficial than going to their website every time. You just need to type in 1(555)-555-1234@telefip.com and send the text message on its way. Then you can save that contact to easily text message your contacts from email. *Note I have only tried this with my Yahoo Email account and it works, so I cannot speak for any other services....
