Memory Mapping On modern operating systems, each process lives in its own allocated region of memory or allocation space. The bounds of the allocated region are not mapped directly to physical hardware addresses. The operating system creates a virtual memory space for each process and acts as an abstraction layer mapping the virtual memory to the physical memory. The kernel maintains a translation table for each process, and this is accessed by the CPU....

System76 has plenty of its own laptops and desktops, and in 2017, it started developing its own variant of Ubuntu Linux called Pop!_OS. Chrome has offered the ability to “install” web apps to your computer for a while now, and the feature is also available on the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge. Now the Edge browser has an easier way to manage web apps, with more improvements on the way. Microsoft Edge allows you to install web apps (as long as the web apps allow it), which then places them in the Start menu on Windows or the Applications folder on macOS....

Google Chrome 88 introduced the Manifest V3 API for extensions, which changes how extensions work in the browser. Mozilla has now outlined its plans for integrating those changes into Firefox. Manifest V3 is a major update to the extension API in Google Chrome, which is in the process of replacing the earlier Manifest V2 technology — Google plans to block older extensions in January 2023. Most of the changes are only important to extension developers, but there are a few key differences....

The bizarre series of events started with a Pixel 7 prototype appearing for sale on eBay (after reportedly showing up on Facebook Marketplace first). The listing didn’t reveal any new surprising details, but it’s not every day that a phone that won’t be officially released for several months (an October launch is likely) shows up for sale. Even better, the reflection in the eBay photos revealed a Pixel 7 Pro was used as the camera....

The Pixel Watch doesn’t have a firm release date yet, just sometime this fall. However, it looks exactly like the claimed prototype that was discovered in April. While most Wear OS watches have followed traditional watch designs, especially on models from Fossil Group, the Pixel Watch is much closer to the Apple Watch. The screen curves down and around the sides, with a digital crown on the right side for scrolling....

Installation and Setup When you’re first starting out GOM provides an easy to follow Configuration Wizard to help you get setup. Set up the internal codecs and your speaker configuration for optimal playback and sound. Decide which file types you want to associate with GOM player. After completing the configuration wizard you are presented with the default player. You will notice ads in the middle display on the control panel in default view but they are only text and hardly intrusive....

Setup The best place to start once you have installed the extension is in the options window. Here you can see the default setup… Time to customize and have a little fun! For our example, we have chosen the “Dropdown Menu” with a “Vertical Orientation On The Toolbar” to conserve space. We also chose to have the links “Always Open In A New Tab”. I suppose this could also be used in reverse, if your start menu does not have the username you could check this registry setting. A Thin, Tough Keyboard The Satechi Slim X3 has some pretty unique dimensions. It’s a minuscule 0.4 inches thick and weighs just under a pound. It’s almost alarmingly thin, but it’s also still as wide as any other desktop keyboard at 16.65 inches. Despite being so thin, the keyboard doesn’t feel flimsy. On the contrary, the keys have a decent amount of give and they’re close together—which is not an uncommon layout for Mac keyboards....

Highlight the paragraph you want to draw attention to, click the Home tab on the Ribbon and choose the Borders drop-down tool. From this menu select Borders and Shading.
