Setup Once you have the extension installed, the first thing that you should do is go to the options for the extension. There are two tabs in the options…the first is for entering your Delicious User Name and Password. And for the moment, the second tab displays as empty. This could be in preparation for future features to be added to the extension. All that you will need to do in the options is enter your account information and click “OK”....

The support page was actually for Samsung’s voice assistant Bixby, and it showed a phone next to an unreleased tablet, which just so happens to match the early leaks for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, notch and all. Samsung has since edited the support page to include a different image, but 91Mobiles had already spotted and reported the photo. The notch is notable because Samsung mocked Apple for the design previously, so it’s interesting to see the company choose to embrace the design with its latest tablet....

Mac Studio The key to the new Mac Studio starts inside, where the company offers either the powerful M1 Max chip or the just-announced M1 Ultra, which is the company’s most powerful processor yet. Using its own silicon aided the company in creating a shockingly small desktop with a square footprint of just 7.7″ and a height of only 3.7″. That means it can easily fit in spaces where other desktop computers can’t....

Windows 7 or Vista uses the built-in Task Scheduler to kick off most maintenance tasks, instead of requiring something to be running all the time. By going into Task Scheduler we can actually change the schedule of main system tasks, including System Restore. Change Schedule for Automatic System Restore Points Type in “Task Scheduler” into the start menu search box, or browse through the start menu’s Administrative Tools section....

Click on Edit and choose Reset Safari… You then get this confirmation screen where you can decide what to keep and what needs to go. Keep in mind that once you hit the Reset button there is no turning back. A quick way to verify it worked is to check the History. Looks like all is clear.

When you open a document from a previous version, you can see [Compatibility Mode] in the title bar. To convert the document, click on the Microsoft Office button in the left hand corner, and then click on Convert. You should be prompted to save the converted document to a new filename. Once the document is saved, now you’ll need to close the current one and reopen the converted document. Thankfully there’s a ridiculously wide dialog window that will let you do that automatically....

If you find yourself using this feature all the time, then you need the TinyUrl Creator extension for Firefox, which makes it very easy to not only create TinyUrls, but access the ones that you’ve already created. Once installed, just right-click on any link, and choose “Create TinyURL for this Page”. With the default settings you’ll get a popup confirmation that tells you the new link has been copied to your clipboard....

Our solution comes in the form of a little utility named flipss.exe which can be used to easily enable or disable the screensaver via a command line argument… we’ll just have to manually create shortcuts for each task. Create Disable/Enable Shortcut Right-click on the desktop and choose New \ Shortcut from the menu. You will need to enter in the full path to where you saved the flipss.exe file, followed by either “/off” or “/on”....

SQL Server provides a built-in stored procedure that you can run to easily show the size of a table, including the size of the indexes… which might surprise you. Syntax: Here’s an example of it in action: Highly useful stuff. It’s always interesting to see that the indexes are bigger than the actual data.

Note: You can’t disable the same thing in Internet Explorer as far as I can tell. If anybody knows of a way, let me know. Open up the Options dialog through Tools \ Options, click on the Advanced tab/button, and then uncheck the “Use autoscrolling” box. The change should be immediate, no need to restart. Note: This should work on Firefox 2 or 3.

To do this in Windows Vista, you’ll first need to create a folder somewhere like your user directory. Now drag this folder all the way to either the side or the top of the screen, and it will magically dock to the side. Make sure you drag the mouse as far to the side as you can or else it’ll just move the folder to the desktop. Now right-click on the folder and choose Toolbars, where you can select any toolbar registered with the system....

PC Audit is an easy to use free application that doesn’t require installation and will run directly from a USB flash drive, CD, or even Floppy Disk. Simply double click the executable and it will scan your system and generate the findings. It runs quick and will give you details about installed hardware, software (including version and product key), and processes running. If you are working on an older system you can run the 997KB program from a floppy disk which comes in very handy for troubleshooting old systems....

There’s an extension called JSView that will let you easily view the source of included files a couple of different ways. Default Installation Usage Once you’ve installed the extension, you’ll see a new option called “View Page Source – JSView”. It will take you to the same screen as the regular View Page Source dialog will… Now when you are in the View Source screen, the View menu will contain extra menu items that let you quickly access the included files....

Print Preview is used to see how the document will look like when it is printed to paper. You can get into Print Preview mode by clicking the Print Preview icon on the Quick Access Toolbar or clicking on the Office Start Menu \ Print \ Print Preview. Now while in Print Preview un-check Magnifier located in the Preview tab on the Ribbon. Now you can go in and make any adjustments to the document while still in Print Preview....

The problem exists because system policies were set that probably shouldn’t be, but either way your icons are missing: Normally you can re-enable the items by right-clicking on the Taskbar, choosing properties and going to the Notification Area tab: But they are grayed out… what’s up with that? Note: I’m assuming you already did the normal Windows fix-it technique of rebooting, and the problem still exists. Fix for Notification Icons are Missing and Checkboxes are Grayed Out...

Google recently rolled out a change to its dark mode in search on desktop, and now the company is rolling out a darker dark mode on its Android app, too. Google Assistant “Routines” can be super handy for automating your life. Typically, Assistant performs the actions immediately on command, but what if you don’t want something to happen right away? You can use a delay to do that. The delay function is a way to trigger actions a certain length of time after the routine starts. It can be used for some actions or all of them. For example, maybe a lamp in one room turns off right away, then 30 minutes later the TV turns off....

You don’t have to use the stock apps that came with your phone. Google has a phone app that can be installed from the Play Store on most Android phones. There are other third-party options as well. If you’d like to try one of these, you’ll need to set it as the “default” phone app after installing it from the Play Store.
